Bohemian Etched glass

These are unique products of the incomparable series, called after the inventor of this decorating technology, Mr. Friedrich Egerman (1777-1864) from Novy Bor. Thanks to his talent and diligence he achieved revolutionary discoveries. He was the first one to use motives of a shell, stag and the chateau and his staining and Engraving technique then has adopted name Egermann etched glass forever
The red coloring on the surface is further decorated by baroque patterns. Etched glass, glass Engraving and staining classic decorating techniques are typical especially for the region of North Bohemia.
Staining is a complicated, physical and chemical process, during which the elements of silver or copper, thrust into glass surface at high temperature, cause its tinge several tens of microns under the surface. Despite of the colored layer thinness it is constant and sanitary wholesome. Paneled stained cutting is another uniqueness. The staining technique is used in the combination with demanding cutting work that divides the compact stained surface into individual panels further decorated by Engraving. The product is subsequently gilded with the 24 carats gold to get its final exclusive appearance.

Caring for Bohemian decorated products:

Do not use a dishwasher. Handle carefully. Do not rotate cup counter to the stem when polishing. Keep the product out of the reach of children. Dry the product with a very soft cloth immediately after it has been washed. The grey coating on Engraving, which may occur when the product  is not frequently used can be wiped off with a linen cloth. Wash in lukewarm water using abrasive-free detergent.
